Hero Ingredient
Bồ Kết saponins
The triterpenoid saponins in Gleditsia australis contribute a natural, gentle lather. Their cleansing works alongside a mild surfactant system — five centuries of Vietnamese practice, translated into a modern formulation.
Surfactant System
Mild SCI + CAPB
Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate and Cocamidopropyl Betaine — a mild, non-stripping surfactant pairing chosen to respect the acid mantle rather than degrade it. Gentle enough for daily use.
Scalp Actives
Niacinamide + Zinc PCA
Niacinamide at 2–4% and Zinc PCA support scalp health and sebum balance — the foundation for hair that grows from a healthy scalp environment.
The balance
Why the perfect shampoo
doesn’t exist
Everyone wants the same things from a shampoo. Clean, but gentle. Natural oils left intact. Soft, but light. No build-up, and volume into day two. Some of those wishes pull against each other — not because no one has tried, but because of how hair and cleansing work.
A cleanser cannot tell the oil you want to keep from the oil that makes hair limp by morning: both are sebum. It only decides how much to remove. And when hair feels soft straight out of the shower, it is because something has stayed on it. What stays, accumulates. What accumulates, weighs hair down.
Most shampoos are judged in the first thirty seconds — the lather, the slip under the water — so most lean towards that feeling. The heaviness only shows weeks later.
We made a shampoo that does one thing well. It cleanses the scalp properly and gently, with mild surfactants and the natural saponins of Bồ Kết, and leaves as little behind as possible. It may feel cleaner and lighter than you are used to. That is intentional: softness comes from the conditioner, the second step. Bồ Kết to cleanse, rice water to care — two steps, each with one job.
There is no perfect shampoo. There is the right balance, and being clear about which one you chose.
Two dials every shampoo has to set
One dial, not two. Every cleanser removes sebum — the only choice is how much.
Softness is what stays on the hair. What stays, accumulates.
